How did POTSabilities come to be?
Emily Rich, PhD, OT, is a person living with POTS and many of the related co-occurring conditions. She saw a huge gap not only in her community but around the world for accessible rehabilitation options to support people with POTS. So, she started a group rehab program in her community using a multi-modal approach (described above). Dr. Rich went back to school and earned a PhD, where her dissertation research studied this multimodal approach. You can find some of her research here and the study on this approach here.
